Seabird Photography Workshop Overview

Make time for a visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs, located on the East Coast of Yorkshire, to take part in our Seabird Photography workshop. This area boasts incredible views, wildlife, and half a million seabirds making it the perfect spot for bird photography. With the majestic colony of Northern Gannets, the senses are bombarded by the sights, smells and sounds. Species such as Puffins, Gannets, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Guillemots, Razorbills, Herring Gulls, and Shags can be seen here. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to get up close to these remarkable birds!

Equipment you will need

  • A good solid tripod.
  • A lens with a focal length of at least 300mm. (200-500 or a 150-600mm would be ideal)
  • Memory cards.
  • Spare batteries.
  • Lens cloths and cleaning equipment.
  • Waterproof clothing.
  • Good waterproof walking boots or wellington boots

To ensure you get the most out of this workshop, it would be beneficial to have a good level of fitness. This is because we will be taking a lot of walks, so having comfortable and supportive shoes is essential. Additionally, it would be wise to bring waterproof clothing, as the workshop will take place no matter the weather conditions.

With only taking two people on this course it will leave plenty 1-2-1 time to spend with each student. Because everyone has different levels of ability so we can concentrate on your abilities and get you those pictures that you always wanted.

With the nature of this photography, we can not guarantee that you will see all the birds listed. Also, the walk will go ahead whatever the weather so any payment made is non-refundable unless extreme circumstances dictate otherwise and due to our opinion.​

We will not be held responsible for any equipment damage, theft or personal injury while attending the walk participants do so at their own risk!

If you pay a deposit you will be required to pay the remaining balance 48 hours before the day of the course. If you fail to pay the full amount before the day of the course you will lose your deposit and will not be able to attend the course.
