Seabird Photography Workshop Overview
Our Seabird Photography workshop is held at RSPB Bempton Cliffs which is on the East Coast of Yorkshire and is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the year.
Home to over half a million seabirds, Bempton Cliffs is ideal if you like bird photography and walking with fantastic vistas and wildlife. Your senses will be blasted by the sights, sounds, and smells.
Their is always something different going on over the cliff edge. RSPB Bempton Cliffs has the UK’s largest mainland Northern Gannet colony which alone is a fantastic sight to see.
Types of seabirds species: –
Puffin, Gannet, Kittiwake, Fulmar, Guillemot, Razorbill, Herring Gull and Shag, also various smaller birds.
This is a full-day workshop (approximately 8 hours) at RSPB Bempton Cliffs where we will be looking at and photographing the seabirds.
We will also be covering a multitude of topics on this course from camera settings I.E shutter speed, ISO, aperture, to the histogram, and white balance and not forgetting camera shake and composition.
We will have a break halfway through the course and have a sit down and a look at the pictures we have taken and discuss the image as to how it could be improved if needed, and what we will cover on the second half of the course.
EQUIPMENT
The problem with photographing seabirds and wildlife along the cliff top is getting close enough, so you will need a bridge camera, Mirrorless or a DSLR With at least a 300mm, or a 200-500mm or 150-600mm lens would be ideal as we will be some distance from the birds.
You may also want to bring a tripod, extra memory cards and batteries, also a camera cover in case of rain also you may wish to bring a pair of binoculars with you.
Location
The Address for RSPB Bempton Cliffs is Cliff Ln, Bempton, Bridlington YO15 1JF
You will need a good level of fitness for this workshop as we will be doing quite a lot of walking so you will need good footwear. You may also want to bring waterproof clothing just in case of bad weather as this workshop will go ahead whatever the weather.
With only taking two people on this course it will leave plenty 1-2-1 time to spend with each student. Because everyone has different levels of ability so we can concentrate on your abilities and get you those pictures that you always wanted.
DISCLAIMER
With the nature of this photography, we can not guarantee that you will see all the birds listed. Also, the walk will go ahead whatever the weather so any payment made is non-refundable unless extreme circumstances dictate otherwise and due to our opinion.
We will not be held responsible for any equipment damage, theft or personal injury while attending the walk participants do so at their own risk!
If you pay a deposit you will be required to pay the remaining balance 48 hours before the day of the course. If you fail to pay the full amount before the day of the course you will lose your deposit and will not be able to attend the course.
